Due Date (2010)

 

   Due date, the movie from last friday.  Almost funny!!  

   With a low score on imdb (6.7), "Due Date" is an ill-tempered comedy, relying on misfortune and childishness for its humor. This movie hangs its premise on an age old comedy formula: an oblivious imbecile makes life miserable for a hapless straight man. Add a road trip to the proceedings and you’ve got a blank canvas to create an infinite amount of ways to antagonize the main character. Robert Downey Jr. plays Peter Highman, whose wife (Michelle Monaghan) is having a baby. All he needs to do is get home from Atlanta to Los Angeles by the end of the week, which is when her C-section is scheduled for.

Plot: High-strung father-to-be Peter Highman is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time.
