Idiocracy 2006

Even though the movie got a 5.9 on imdb I think it will be very entertaining. The story is about us in a tragic future (2505) of our planet. Low intelligence quoted people are overcrowding earth, and switching water with gatorade and the US President is a porn star and even if this movie may overstate some details, I just don't see it that far.

Charlie St Cloud - Life is for living

Second chances are always given with a special purpose. Well, here's the story of a boy that got his special second chance.Rated 5.6 on imdb, Charlie St Cloud is one of those movies which will certainly make you cry.It's presented the story of Charlie (Zac Efron) , a succesful young man , champion at boating race on his sailboat, The Splendid Splinter, along with his brother Sam (Charlie Tahan).One night they get into a terrible car accident, which lets him marked for life.Sam and Charlie cling to each other as Sam asks Charlie  never to leave him alone again, saying that if he does, they will always be together as brothers. Charlie promises they will always be together.Then, a paramedic revives Charlie who is horryfied at the sight of his dead little brother.

Five years later, he is the caretaker of the cemetary in which his brother was buried.Charlie has a special bond with Sam, as he can see and talk to him.They meet each night in the woods to play catch.But then, a girl, Tess Caroll (Amanda Crew) comes into Charlie's life and he is made to choose between keeping his promise or going after the girl of his life.

Friday Special - Shawshank Redemption!

This movie is an excellent depiction of life in a prison, a society within a society where different rules and conventions apply. The Shawshank Redemption shows us that there is hope even within the walls of a prison. Excellent cast and acting ensure that the characters are believable and that the viewer cares about them.

There are several things in this movie that reminds me of the TV series Prison Break: one the main characters helps the prison warden and gets something in return, and the way that the same character disposes of the evidence of his digging activities. I suppose there are only so many ways some things can be accomplished inside a prison.

I think that the last scene, on the beach, is somewhat unnecessary and I could probably have lived without it. Other than that, there is little to complain about. The Shawshank Redemption is a rewarding movie to watch.
